Some of the streets in town are old red brick.
The driveway goes all the way around the house, in a horseshoe shape. Not pictured is the outside, "trapdoor" to the storm cellar. Kansas is tornado country. Here is the very cute garage.
This is the house next door. It is actually a playhouse, called the "Drama Guild" where local theater is performed.
This building is across the street from my grandmother's house. It was my grandfather's office. He was a physician saw patients here. He also made house calls, frequently out in the country, and performed surgery at the hospital, which he built, just down the street. The hospital is no longer there. The new 15-bed hospital is on the north edge of town. The day we visited the hospital census was three.
Very sadly his old office building (like many in town) has been abandoned and is in complete disrepair. Jan and I would have ventured closer, and maybe inside, but it did not appear safe.
